Usually one person wears the crown of Greater Govanhill Style Icon but this time, we’re doing things differently. The streets of Govanhill are bursting with pretty prints, cool colours and faces rooted in many cultures. On a sunny afternoon, we captured a fashion parade full of creativity, confidence and community.

Tributes have poured in for Tallat Haq, honouring her legacy of community service and quiet activism. In her memory, a tree will also be planted by Govanhill Baths Community Trust following the passing of the beloved Al-Khair branch manager.

Govanhill’s Victoria Road to close tomorrow for essential work on along the busy carriage way until Wednesday evening. The works are part of a rejuvenation of the carriageway which has served as a crucial route for Southside commuters since the late 19th century.

A water pipe from 1901 burst on Pollokshaws Road, leaving 6,500 homes in Glasgow without water for over 24 hours. Over a week later, some parts of Victoria Road continue to be affected by the issue while Scottish Water works to resolve the issue.

Govanhill…As I See It – Photography Exhibition was a culmination of film photos of people, places and buildings that bring the people of Govanhill joy and capture the spirit of their neighbourhood.
