How should we process rolling news coverage of the genocide in Palestine?
How can we bear witness when instinct tell us to look away?
How can we turn our horror into practical action?

As part of Indie News Week 2025, The Community Newsroom is pleased to launch a new series of events, News → Action.

The events will be hosted by Greater Govanhill, The Ferret and The New Internationalist to provide local, national and international perspectives on news coverage and the role of the media.

These will be in-person events that provide a platform for us to come together, share ideas, and discuss actionable steps we can take.
In this first event, we’ll hear from grassroots activists about local actions for Palestine and how you can get involved.
